Walter mitty /Day dreamer:
A whimsical term commonly used to refer somebody who we see as a bit of an off grid person. It may sound more like a sweet way to put across some sarcasm. But I think of it as the best possible way that a person can be complimented. For the time being, let’s just focus on the term ‘compliment’.
As we all know, a person can be complimented in infinite possible ways. Starting from the shoe they wear, their taste on outfits, the skills they possess and even to the way that they walk, talk and even more. Despite of all these many ways a person can be complimented, which can be developed by anyone who have a good observation skill, isn’t it a way too prodigious to get complimented on something that you inherit by birth, your brain?
If you are a day dreamer, then that trait was not induced into you. It is not something that can be indulged or taught to you by somebody or something. You should be born with it. You would have an entire universe linked to each of your thoughts, where you can create things which don’t even have a chance of coming into existence in another couple of light years. You are privileged to have an experience that most people can’t even imagine of.
I was fortunate enough to .Trust me it wasn’t easy on the outside. But taking a free tour through the universe when the second grade science class is going on? Well! I wouldn’t complain. How would you feel when the others around you are listening to the teacher, who is effort fully trying to explain the solar system and you are sitting in one corner of that room, sharing the other end of the desk with your classmate, who stares at the 2D image of the milky way galaxy from a point on this very earth, while you get to roam around the galaxy, having a clear view of Venus right from where you are because you are actually standing on its surface with your eyes wide open. Touching the 900F giant ball sends the burn right through that cramped palm of yours. Then you look away to see Saturn, just 3 planets away, dashing with fluorescent colored rings spread across its diameter, wavering to the music of your favorite song which plays in the background.
The day dreaming is not about picturing things that you hear .Its imagination. It is about bringing that crazy flair of yours into the reality and day to day life. Things you come across wouldn’t be boring anymore. Beauty would ravish in everything you see because you see what you want to see.
The darkest of space would have the most vibrant colors. You could write poems about the spell bound, mesmerizing beauty of earth while bouncing on a trampoline on Jupiter, with a Popsicle in the other hand.
it is not that bad to be a daydreamer. After all people spend a lot on enhancing their experience. Isn't it wonderful to be born with quite a wonderful upgrade!
